Septic Cleaning

Protect Your Investment; Know Your Septic Tank

Your septic system can last for decades - but only with proper maintenance.

Proper maintenance will not only protect the investment you have in your home and septic system, it will also protect the environment and the public health.

What is the best service to protect your septic? Regular checkups and periodic pumping to remove the build up of solids. You have regular checkups and periodic oil changes on your car for exactly the same reason. Changing the oil removes the build-up of dirt and other sediments that can decrease the life of your car.

Similarly, pumping your septic tank will remove the build-up of sediments that collect in, and in excess can damage your septic system. The rule of thumb is to pump your conventional septic system at least once every 3-5 years. Some systems like aerobic units will have to be pumped even more frequently, on the order of every 2-3 years, to keep them operating properly.

The proper way to determine if a system needs pumping is measure the actual build up of solids. We open up your tanks and take physical measurements of the scum and sludge layer thicknesses. Comparing those measurements to the limiting conditions of your tank tells us if it is time for you to pump your system, or not.

Our technicians are trained to perform this work, and perform at least a dozen such checks in the day to day service of our customer's septic systems. Call us today to schedule a check of your system. Every day you wait can multiply the costs of repair.
